It has been a while since I last posted on the blog.  It is not hard to guess why?  Well after 16 months of being restricted just as things were opening up again Boris locks us down for another month!

So I thought it might be a good idea to update our clients, guests and website visitors on what we have been doing behind the scenes.

We can accept card payments at parties.

This is something I have been thinking about for a while, taking card payments for small businesses like mine is expensive. However as we are slowly becoming a cashless society we thought it was time to move with the times.  So when it comes to paying for your party on the day, we can now take payment via credit or debit card as well as cash.  Ideally we still prefer bank transfer the day before. (This ensures the payment has gone through before the party or event).

Weddings

2022 is filling up fast with wedding bookings.  Starlight Party are fast becoming one of the major players when it comes to choosing a wedding DJ.  I don’t claim to be the cheapest, but what offer is a professional service from the moment you first get in contact right through until we drive away from the venue after your wedding reception.  The sound and lighting I supply is top of the range, the lighting is computer controlled so you can have a wonderful sweeping hearts or stars across the dancefloor for the first dance and bespoke lighting for the party part of your reception.  You might have someone attending with epilepsy and flashing lights trigger it.  We can ensure that our lights don’t flash and only gentle change colour, with top of the range moving head lights, they can sweep gently lighting up the whole room.  I am more than happy to accept a small playlist and work with you when it comes to the choice of music played throughout the night.  If you book our top package, you can include some mood lighting, your names projected on the wall or floor and even a bubble machine for the first dance.

Starlight Party Bingo – Music not Numbers

During lockdown and when weddings were restricted with no dancing, I decided to incorporate a game of bingo.  I wasn’t sure how this would go down, but it has proved a massive success and after some initial testing at a few weddings we are now pleased to offer it as an extra to your party or event.  Starlight Party Bingo is not like your normal numbered bingo.  We have 50 classic party songs, Bingo cards with songs rather than numbers.  Once you hear the song, you tick it off your bingo card and when you have won, you shout bingo!  We normally do 4 corners, 2 lines and then a full house. We supply the cards, pens and prizes.  You can add this to your booking from as little as £35.

Mr and Mrs, Mr & Mr or Mrs & Mrs

1.. Mr and Mrs Paddle Game – Basically you both sit back to back and have a blue  and pink paddle in your hands. I ask a series of questions and you hold up the paddle who is… As an example who is the messiest?   If you get it wrong you take a drink, if you both get it right everyone else has to take a drink.

2.. Classic Mr and Mrs game, this time you face each other. I ask some questions for you to answer about your partner for example ‘what was the naughtiest thing they did at school?   Again if you get it wrong you take a drink, if you get it right everyone else takes a drink.
